Peter Gosden Fellow/ Media Manager

Catherine Sloan is currently undertaking a PhD in History at the University of Oxford. Her thesis title is ‘The School Magazine in England, 1850-1902’, and it explores the print, manuscript, and amateur print magazines published at five middle-class secondary schools in England. She has published on the subject in Victorian Periodicals Review (Winter 2017).┬áHer PhD was funded by the AHRC, the Faculty of History at the University of Oxford, and the Fund for Women Graduates. Her broader interests are in Modern British history, in particular social and cultural history, and histories of childhood and education. Catherine is a History of Education Society Peter Gosden Fellow (2016-17).
