The History of Education Society (UK) is pleased to announce two book prizes for awarding in 2020.

The Anne Bloomfield Prize

The Anne Bloomfield Prize is for the best book written in English on the history of education. Nominations for books published between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2019 should be sent to [email protected] with a short 150/ 200 word supporting rationale. Co-authored but not co-edited books may be submitted. Those shortlisted will be asked to provide 4 copies of their books to the panel. The deadline for submissions is midnight on 2 March 2020. Shortlisting will take place in March and the winners will be announced at the Society‚Äôs annual conference in Birmingham in November 2020.

The Kevin Brehony Prize

The Kevin Brehony Prize is for the best first single-authored book written in English on the history of education. Nominations for books published between 1 January 2017, and 31 December 2019 should be sent to [email protected] with a short 150/200 word supporting rationale. Those shortlisted will be asked to provide 4 copies of their books to the panel. The deadline for submissions is 2 March 2020. Shortlisting will take place in March and the winners announced at the Society annual conference in Birmingham in November 2020.
